Inkle Weaving is a method of band weaving. It is a warp faced weave. This means the vertical threads on the loom are the ones that show. The inkle bands can be used as decorative embellishments for clothing, key rings, bookmarks, guitar straps, belts, and even pet leashes.

DATE/TIME: January 24 & 31; 10a.m. to noon (this is a two-session class)
Class includes: Making heddles for your loom, warping, reading a pattern, simple weaving
Materials provided by student:
- Inkle Loom (unless you are watching to learn and don’t own a loom yet)
- Stick Shuttle
- Ruler/tape measure
- Waxed linen (if you don’t already have heddles)
- Scissors
- Yarn, or string, for warp (best yarns are smooth and strong; 2 or more contrasting colors; examples- silk, 8/2 or 8/4 cotton or cottolin; thicker crochet thread; pima cotton; dishcloth cotton)
- DO NOT choose yarn that is fuzzy or stretchy (eyelash, textured yarn, cashmere, or mohair)
